*Students in Elementary Japanese I/II (JAPN 10103/10203) are eligible for the Intermediate Japanese (JAPN 21106 or JAPN 20103/202H3) program whether they register for these courses face-to-face or online.
**Applicants for Intensive Advanced Japanese (JAPN 31106/JAPN 311H6) are required to take JLPT Level N5 in December. JAPN 31106 participants who do not pass JLPT Level N5 in December may retake Level N5 in July.
***This program prioritizes juniors and other underclass students because JLPT certification at the highest possible level and completion of a Minor in Japanese by graduation are important long-term objectives of the Japanese Program. In addition to seniors, Intermediate Japanese (JAPN 21106 or JAPN 20103/202H3) applicants who register for JAPN 11106 in Spring Semester are automatically waitlisted due to the nature of the review process.
