Lincoln Bain IV, Director
Dr. Lincoln Bain IV is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Spanish, Digital Humanities, and Director of the World Languages and Digital Humanities (WLDH) Studio of the Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (WLLC) at the University of Arkansas. He earned his Ph.D in Second Language Acquisition and Teaching from the University of Arizona, and his research sits at the intersection of applied linguistics, digital humanities, and educational technology, examining how digital games, immersive technologies, artificial intelligence, and online communities can support second language learning, identity development, and intercultural communication. He is particularly interested in how learners construct meaning across games, multimodal environments, digital wilds, and emerging technologies. His scholarship focuses on digital game-based language learning and teaching (DGBLLT), learner identity, multimodal composing, computer-assisted language learning (CALL), digital humanities, and innovative pedagogical design. As Studio Director, he oversees a robust team of Studio researchers, hosts workshops, and teaches courses in Spanish, Pedagogy and Digital Humanities.
Cheyenne Roy, Assistant Director
Cheyenne Roy is the Assistant Director of the World Languages & Digital Humanities (WLDH) Studio Department in the World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures (WLLC) at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. Having earned a Master of Arts in English (Northeastern State University) and a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing (Michigan State University), Roy joined the WLLC department in 2021 as assistant director of the Center for World Languages, now the WLDH Studio. She is responsible for studio communications, co-managing the Studio, overseeing promotional and advertising endeavors for the the WLLC department, and managing written materials—including social media and Arkansas News articles. She also supervises day-to-day studio activities and coordinates studio events.
